San Diego, CA (May 5, 2017)—Today, Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-51) will announce the CA-51 winners of the 2017 Congressional Art Competition in a reception with students and parents in Chula Vista.
San Diego, CA (April 14, 2017)—Today, Rep. Juan Vargas (CA-51) toured the areas affected by the recent sewage spill into the Tijuana River. Rep. Vargas has expressed strong support for essential Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) U.S.-Mexico border programs and is urging Congress to allocate $5 million in funding for the U.S. Mexico Border Water Infrastructure Grant Program.
Washington, D.C. (January 18, 2017)—Congressman Juan Vargas (CA-51) and Congressman Duncan Hunter (CA-50) introduced the California New River Restoration Act of 2017 (H.R. 438). This bipartisan bill improves restoration and conservation efforts in the New River in both California and Mexico through the creation of a California New River restoration program.
Washington, D.C.—Today, the Chicano Park Preservation Act (H.R. 3711), a bill introduced by Congressman Juan Vargas in 2015, has moved out of the House Committee on Natural Resources on unanimous consent. The bill will be moving forward with the possibility of being considered on the House Floor before the end of the 114th Congress.
