Rep. Vargas Hosts Open House at Newly Relocated Imperial Valley District Office
El Centro, CA (August 26, 2013) – Today, Congressman Juan Vargas (CA-51) hosted an open house at his newly relocated Imperial Valley district office located at 380 North 8th St., Suite 14 in El Centro. The open house gave constituents and local officials a chance to meet with Rep. Vargas and his staff, and ask any questions they might have about federal issues.
“I am thrilled to be able to meet with members of the Imperial Valley community,” said Rep. Vargas. “It’s a great opportunity for me and my staff to listen to constituents’ concerns and to discuss what’s going on in Congress and in the district. I appreciate every chance we get to come back and hear what people have to say.”
Monday’s event in the new office was also an occasion for residents to learn more about the services Rep. Vargas and his staff can provide in the district and in Washington, DC. Over 150 constituents and local elected officials attended the open house.
Chairman of the Imperial County Board of Supervisors Ray Castillo said, “I am very pleased see Rep. Vargas holding an open house for our community. I look forward to a great working relationship with Rep. Vargas and know that he is a tremendous advocate for our needs in the Valley.”
Mayor of Calexico Bill Hodge stated, “This open house is much-needed and appreciated in the domain of politics and is what all of our representatives should do. Any open house or town hall that Rep. Vargas hosts tells the people he represents that his door is open to them.”
Supervisor Jack Terrazas noted that the open house had a “great turnout and is a good opportunity for the people of the Imperial Valley to meet their Representative.”
