Rep. Juan Vargas Votes No on Appropriations Legislation

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Juan Vargas (D-CA-52) voted no on the Fiscal Year 2026 Commerce, Justice, Science; Energy and Water Development; and Interior and Environment Appropriations Act.  

“Right now, we have an out-of-control President who believes he can act with total impunity. He has demonstrated that he is willing to carry out illegal impoundments and pocket recessions with no regard for Congress, and unfortunately, this legislation does not go far enough in putting guardrails on him,” said Rep. Juan Vargas. “Trump’s lawlessness isn’t limited to appropriations. He has repeatedly tossed our Constitution to the side. He has trampled civil liberties. He has unleashed an anti-immigrant agenda that has terrorized our communities and now led to the killing of a young mother in Minnesota. We cannot continue like it’s business as usual. I'll keep fighting to hold this Administration accountable at every step.”
