WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Juan Vargas (D-CA-52) announced that he secured $14,990,000 in federal funds for 15 community projects across California’s 52nd Congressional District in appropriations legislation passed by Congress.
The House Appropriations Committee has not yet released information for the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 2027) funding deadlines or the specific funding streams that will be available. Therefore, our office is not yet able to accept and review applications for FY 2027 community project funding.

The Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) authorizes studies, construction projects, and research activities within the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Civil Works mission areas. This includes improvements to the nation’s ports and harbors, the inland waterway navigation network, flood and storm protection, shoreline protection, ecosystem restoration, and other water resources infrastructure.
